Why do I keep playing this? Am I stupid? (Yes)

This review contains spoilers

I could write a review on how great the writing in this game, almost too great because characters cut each other off and annoyingly start another conversation all the time. I could also write about how the gameplay doesn't really innovate but keeps itself just fresh enough throughout the games runtime.

But I would rather talk about how this game has the greatest game mechanic of all time being Huddle-Up. It led to some of my favorite game moments of the year such as beating Fin Fang Foom while listening to Rainbow's "Since You Been Gone" and beating Grand Unifier Rakker while listening to Starship's "We Built This City" and that rules so hard.

Really my first dive into the visual-novel genre, the closest related thing being Persona. For the most part, I really enjoyed my time! The writing for the most part was great and funny. The twists were pretty foreseeable, especially if you know the big twist (which you probably do due to the nature of the internet). I did have some annoyances with gameplay, as well as the feeling that the protagonist was a plot device rather than the vessel that pushes the story forward which leads to what could have been some of the more interesting/harrowing moments in the story to be explained rather than shown (which might come with the genre, I do not know). The game also did not perform spectacularly on the new collection on Switch, which is a shame, it also left a bad taste in my mouth when the game crashed on the final case and I lost over an hour of progress. Overall, I will return to the series as I heard the sequels do have better characters and story-telling, I just won't be returning right away.

The best Telltale game and one of the best entries in this weird and wacky franchise

While I am glad these arcadey matrix-action like games are still being published within the indie scene I just didn't really enjoy how this one controlled and the pacing of it. While there is legitimately fun moments that made me smile when I saw what I had just pulled off, the game needs to be sped up to go for the insanity it wants to pull off. It should do what Superhot did by showing you a re-cap of what you've done at a faster speed.

Pretty bland superhero story paired with easy combat made this game a chore.

Only Nintendo can put a series on ice for nearly two decades and not only announce a new one and have it release 4 months later, but release what will surely be a new high point in not only the series but the genre as well.
Only real complaints are the lack of memorable music themes and areas looking really similar to one another with only a few stand-outs.

I ground up remake of the pc classic. Comes with breathtaking visuals as as well as some of the best voice acting I have ever heard from a game. For better or for worse you do not get to really live in Lost Heaven due to the rigid mission structure going from one story beat to the next without much time to breathe. While I appreciate that the game is focused on a tight and well spoken narrative I would have enjoyed to live in the city a bit more, listen to the retro-style radio broadcast see the classic cars driving the street. The game also has really weak combat, both with the use of guns and melee. There is no impact and that takes me out what is supposed to be a gritty game about the dangers of organized crime.

Great intro to the series and the genre. Artstyle and gameplay have aged well.

awful matchmaking leads to fun memories

It is possible to nitpick what is wrong with this game; frame rate is poor in the open world, the open world is not up-to-snuff by modern terms, the art style can get tiring. However this game excels at exactly wanted to: being a proper sequel to No More Heroes 1 & 2 and it does that in strides. I have never had a game subvert my expectations so many times and leave me laughing after every dialogue between characters. While I don't think this game is for everyone; it was definitely for me and a great send-off for our beloved Travis.

A game that enjoyed to start, it was pretty average but still felt unique despite being in two bloated genres (zombies and open world), but man, this game does not respect the player. Every story beat just makes the games feel worse and worse every time you might get a slight sense of hope/happiness from the story it just flips you the finger and demands you keep going and MAYBE next time you'll get a feel good moment, that made me lose intrest in finishing it.

So uniquely itself and is a damn ride all the way through.

I really mediocre open world game that pretends to have deep combat that devolves into changing stance depending on whos standing in front of you. Also the only game that a dodge roll makes the games combat feel infinitely worse.

Really fun and initial showing from what hopefully inspires more F2P fighting games. Monetization is pretty piss poor and grinding for characters take way too long, I understand as the game ages more options for coin earning will be added but right now its unbearably slow.
