I adore the challenging, heart-racing but fair combat and platforming from its Metroidvania style level design. I adore the gripping and intriguing but secretive storytelling and worldbuilding that make each section stand tall and memorable on their own feet. I adore the hand-drawn art direction that makes its setting and environment alluring and enchanting one moment then intimidating at another. I adore the magnificent soundtrack that captures the whole spectrum of emotions from eerie, reflective and melancholic to being monumental and even outright horrifying.

An absolute celebration of video games with Nintendo and Gaming All-Stars. Although it was regrettable to see fan favourite modes like Trophy Mode and Event Match not make the cut, it makes up for it with a gargantuan dream-roster and a new fighting game physics engine that grants it a respectable and competitive depth that rivals Melee's endless sea of possibilities. SSBU's "World of Light" is a flawed but well-intention video game love letter. #ThankYouSakurai for one of, if not, the largest games you’ve ever produced.

In my opinion, currently the best of the series. It felt like an amazing next step after the original and CoM. A flashier, faster paced combat that is a fantastic balance between hack-and-slash and magic, climatic boss battles, the introduction of the Nobodies and Organization XIII and how they fit into the equation and one of the greatest video game OSTs to date. Final Mix makes the vanilla version beyond obsolete. With the addition of extra items, keyblades, areas and phenomenal post-game boss battles that both show the striking depth of the combat system and builds further on expanding on future events makes me forgive its flaws (e.g. slow beginning that hurts multiple playthroughs, cringeworthy moments that haven’t aged well and Sora becoming too much of an optimist) relatively negligible in comparison.
