Honestly this replay raised my opinion back up for this game. I always loved it, but I absolutely had some major criticism of it. This replay made me realize how small those issues are.

I decided to not do all the dungeons because I wanted to attempt the boss rush. I ended up deciding to do the lightning temple last second just because of how fun that dungeon is. Honestly, I think I could do the boss rush pretty easily now.

I do wish there was more time spent in the sky for this game, and I do wish the underground was more fun, but eh, end of the day this game is incredible. It still stands as one of my favorite games of all time, even if I would still put BOTW above it.

Honestly I might keep playing this game and do the rest of the dungeons. I'm not ready to stop playing yet.

Not going to lie, I have a lot of mixed thoughts on this game. While there is a lot to love here, like the music and the introduction of Blaze, the level and boss design is some of the most infuriating Sonic content I’ve ever played.

My biggest issue with this game was how many levels had many hard to see bottomless pits, causing me to unfairly get game overs over and over. This would be fine, if it didn’t send me back to act 1 every single time this happened. It was genuinely so infuriating.

At one point, I almost quit the entire game over this. Last minute, I decided to try out an infinite lives mod since I was playing on my hacked 3DS, and honestly that solved the issue for me.

Bosses on the other hand are just not very good. Most of em are “watch the boss do an animation for 30 seconds, then you can attack” and it got quite old. Doesn’t help that every boss takes 8 hits to take down either.

While I do like a lot in this game like of these issues, they are too big of issues for me to easily overlook. I have heard this game’s sequels fixed these issues, so I’m excited to eventually check them out! Also Blaze rules, she’s so cool.

Man what the FUCK is Microsoft doing shutting down Tango? This game is EASILY not just Bethesda's best game ever, but even potentially Microsoft's best title ever. And for no reason at all, they decide to smash it like a bug.

The style of this game is something else. It especially comes through in the game's cutscenes, which are spectacular. It's not often we get a game with this much character, and Hi-Fi Rush embraces it as a badge of honor.

Combat is super fun too. I unfortunately never really got the timing down as good as I wanted to, but I still had a blast with each combat encounter.

Really bummed this is where the series ends. Would have loved to see a sequel :(

Super impressive mod! This does a lot to stand out from the base game. Biggest standout is the level design. It makes these levels a lot longer and has some super interesting concepts. The biggest issue unfortunately is the bugs. Quite a few times, things would not work as intended, and they would work not as intended quite frequently. Final main level was rough, with a bug that softlocked the level and made me do a full reset.

While not perfect, I absolutely suggest checking this out. It feels like what Forces should have been

While not perfect, this game is a wonderful soulslike that I had a hard time putting down for the last couple days. I am a very big fan of what this game ended up being, and I’m super excited to see what Shift Up does next!

The combat in this game feels amazing, and honestly might be my favorite feeling soulslike ever. It really does feel like a mesh of DMC/Bayonetta and Elden Ring with a tad of Nier. It somehow all blended together amazingly.

Also the side quests in this game were shockingly good. While the main quest did leave quite a bit to be desired, I feel like the side quests helped pick up the slack.

Overall I highly suggest checking this game out if you are an action game fan or a soulslike fan. So far, it’s one of the better games I have played in 2024.

This is a childhood game of mine, and i think it’s really funny I never finished it because it’s like 3 hours long.

I don’t think I could ever bring myself to not love this game due to childhood nostalgia, but man replaying it has reminded me of how not great this game is at times. This game is very “waggle the Wii remote”-ey. Movement also kinda sucks. With that said..

THE VIBES OF THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE AND I LOVE IT!!!! ALSO THE MUSIC IN THIS GAME IS SO SO GOOD. KNIGHT OF THE WIND, FIGHT THE KNIGHT, LIVE LIFE, AAAAAA ITS SO GOOD. IDC IF THE GAME ISNT THAT FUN, I AM SO HAPPY THIS GAME EXISTS ITS SO COOL

I feel like I have been gaslit my entire life. People would make you believe this is the worst game of all time. I was baffled playing it realizing it's not even the worst Sonic game i've played.

Do not get me wrong, this game has a LOT of issues for sure. But I found myself having more fun than not for the majority of the runtime. Silver was the worst the game ever got, but even then, it wasn't THAT bad outside of a handful of levels.

The level design in this game is fantastic, and I was kinda shocked how consistently each level banged. You can point to countless things as faults for this game, but level design is not one of em.

It is unfortunate how much potential this game had. If this game got one more year of dev time, this game could have been the Sonic Adventure 3 people have been dying for. I see the vision for this game and what it could have been.

It makes me super happy that Project 06 exists because it makes 06 so much better. While I haven't played all of it, I did check out the levels that I remembered being the absolute worst in the original, and MAN they are a huge step up there.

ALSO THE MUSIC IN THIS GAME BANGS. It is way better than I thought it would have been. I have knows of a handful of tracks in this game for a while, but nah most level's music is fantastic.

In summary, I might be an 06 defender. I absolutely see the faults of this game, but this game so strongly deserved a second chance. And it is not NEARLY as bad as people online would make you believe it is. It's a 6/10 that people online treat like a 1/10.

This is still one of my favorite games of all time, and is so great on a replay after knowing what’s coming. I really loved revisiting this game 2 years after launch.

Funny enough, this replay began back at the end of 2022, but I kept stopping early on. I played through all of Chapter 1 in 2022, a tiny bit of chapter 2 when the Pyra and Mythra amiibos dropped, then finished chapter 2 when the Noah and Mio amiibos dropped. Date noted as the start date is when I decided to fully focus on replaying the game from start to finish.

I will say though, NG+ has a few issues that does make the game a bit less fun. While it’s great having all of your heroes transfer immediately, I feel significantly less inclined to experiment when I already have a very consistent set up for chain attacks already.

Though on the other hand, Origin is a little bit of a slong, being 3ish hours long. In NG+, it was nice maxing out my characters and being able to just ignore all enemy encounters to make it go faster

Also, already mentioned above but the story still hits super hard for me. One scene in particular is one of my favorite scenes in any video game ever, and it got me to tear up watching it in game with full context again.

While typing this, I’m still watching the final cutscene and god what a perfect ending to this game. This game is a 10/10 and everyone should play it. GOD I WANT XENOBLADE 4 NOW

I think it is super wild that there are so many RPGs out there that take inspiration from this game, while very few accomplish the same achievements this game does. It is fantastic.

This was my 4th time trying to play this game. First, I tried to play it on my hacked SNES Classic. Got up to Robo and stopped playing. Then I tried the PC port in 2021. Port sucked. I tried again in 2022. Port still sucked. Finally, I tried the PC port again, and now works.

So to start, story. I do think the game has a fantastic opening. But then, it kinda drags a little for a bit. But then you hit the mid point of the game, and the entire concept of this game finally clicks. I ended up falling in love with every member of the cast.

This game has a ton of side content, that initially, I had no intentions of doing. However, many friends HEAVILY suggested I do them, and yup I agree, they are all very important and worth doing. All of the character specific quests are great.

Gameplay, this game is also great, though I do have a few nitpicks. Combat is super fun, no complaints there. However, navigation is a little weird. There were a lot of times where I really had no idea where to go, and with no quest menu, I had no way to double check.

I think this game could really benefit from some kind of HD-2D remaster to add a quest menu, and maybe even markers for main quests and side quests. I think it would do wonders to improve the game for a newer audience.

Along side that, why is Chrono Cross on all platforms, but the only modern way to play Chrono Trigger is the Steam version? This game should be on all modern platforms, and I can't find a good reason for why it's not, besides maybe a remake is in development.

Side note - during my playthrough, I was heavily considering dropping it while the story was at a low point. I am super happy I pushed through, because this game was really worth it. I am super excited to revisit it for NG+ at some point.

This game feels like it has a super big identity crisis, and is never confident in its direction. This game has a bunch of different play styles, but all of them feel like they never reach their full potential by the time the game ends.

This game has a few moments where it begins to shine, and the charm of the different outfits are cool, but it struggled to outweigh the slightly jarring direction this game took. Some play styles are just not fun at all (looking at you mystery levels).

I feel like GoodFeel has been in an unfortunate downward spiral of games as of late. They made the great Kirby Epic Yarn and the amazing Yoshi’s Woolly World. They then made the meh Crafted World and now the meh Peach Showtime. It’s a bummer for sure.

I know I am pretty negative on this game in this thread. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t hate this game. I would still say the good outweighs the bad. However, I think this game could have been significantly better.

This has been a series I have been putting off getting into for a while. 0 is something special. While it's not perfect, I found myself insanely engaged in the story and was on the edge of my seat by the end.

I tried playing this game a few years back, and put it down because the intro didn't interest me. Going back now, I still stand by the first 2 chapters of this game being a little meh. However, once the game hits chapter 3, it hits its peak and never comes down.

I will also say, the combat wasn't a very strong element of this game for me. It was fun for a bit, but nearing the end, I was purposely avoiding combat encounters. Excited for when I get to 7 and 8 and I get to check out the turn based combat.

Overall, I had a fantastic time with Yakuza 0, and I am glad I took the time to finally take it off my backlog. I highly suggest playing this game if you haven't yet.

I am dead and Square Enix killed me.

I might have a new favorite game of all time.

While I did have a fun time with this, I can’t help but feel like Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion was WAY better… and that feeling kinda is my general feeling on Splatoon 3 as content wraps up for this game.

Splatoon 3 was a pretty big disappointment to me unfortunately, and I find myself constantly missing Splatoon 2, as I feel like that game was just a lot better. It’s a bummer.

Though, this DLC is still great. It’s a rougelike that’s meant to replayed a bunch of times. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s enough variation to make this something I plan to return to very often, but I’ll keep playing for now.

And even though I might be a bit down on it right now, I still really did like this. Just, it feels weird that this DLC took a year and a half to make, while Octo Expansion took less than a year. And Octo expansion felt like it had a much bigger scope.

Extra log for my NG+ Playthrough to get the social links achievement. Thoughts on the game remain unchanged from my prior log, tho I am surprised this only took me 20 hours

That was one of the greatest video games I have ever played.

I honestly wasn’t sure where this game would land along 4 and 5 with me loving both of them as much as I do, but this game stands strong with both of em as 10/10s.

Persona 3 has what I think is the series’s best cast. Every single character is so deep in a way that 4 and 5 hits with most but not all of their casts. ALSO THE SOCIAL LINKS IN THIS GAME ARE SOOO GOOD!!

This remake brings the gameplay up to the modern standard that was set by P5, and executes on it perfectly. I do think I prefer P5’s palaces, but Tartarus was still way better than people online lead me to believe.

And GOD that story! I unfortunately knew a good amount of the plot since I watched the movies years ago, but god it hits so much harder in game form. This game handles the theme of death so incredibly well, and even got me thinking about my own life more.

I don’t entirely know yet how I would rank the Persona games just yet, but the fact that there is a chance I would put this game over P5 is wild considering that game is a top 5 game of all time, but it really just is that good.

I loved this game a lot. It’s not officially confirmed yet, but it’s rumored that this game is getting DLC adding in missing content from FES, and I will be there day one.
