After gen 4, my interest in Pokémon was waning. It had become less interesting to me and gen 3 and 4 , to me, failed to deliver something fresh. My buddies and I looked at a Nintendo power and saw an article on Black and White. We were so excited. The Pokémon looked really cool and the American theming was great! The weekend it came out we all got it and loved it. This game at its core is the same experience. You fight gym leaders, you catch Pokémon, and there is an evil team. But this game focused more and making a story. It’s deal with the morality of using Pokémon to battle against their will, making decisions that others may not agree with and balance. The characters are fleshed out a little deeper even the gym leaders play somewhat of a bigger role in the story. The graphics look crisp and it’s got some banging tunes. The game can be a bit more challenging than its previous entries, by Pokémon standards. The down side is the game can feel quite linear the map is literally a giant circle. Some of he towns aren’t as interesting as I thought they would be and the end game is not great. Overall is worth checking out and it felt liked they tried to go in a new direction with things.
