A game where you simply run and jump, combine that with very well thought out level design and add a lot of difficulty, that's Super Meat Boy.

The story isn't groundbreaking but it's nice, the music/sound effects are good and not tiresome, the game is responsive and made me think I could always have made it through alive if I played better, the graphics are quite beautiful, and the game itself has a lot of content.

Now, a fact: this game will make you doubt your ability. It hits you without caring if you'll stop playing due to its difficulty. As the worlds go by, either you improve or you'll be obliterated by each challenge. Even after completing 106% of the game, I confess there were levels where I thought about giving up. Everything seems very unfair, almost impossible, but when you finally complete it and get the hang of how to pass through, it's one of the best feelings I've ever had playing something. Initially, it's a simple platform game but towards the end, it's a game of extreme precision, and that's rewarding, but I understand it's an immense barrier.

There are several characters and due to the fact that the basic mechanics are so simple, The Kid is simply one of, if not the best character in the game because of the ability to double jump, which simplifies the game a lot. But unlocking it took hours out of my day and in the end, even though I couldn't believe it was true, that feeling was worth it.

Overall, it's a fun game, more challenging than normal, seemingly unfair, but when you figure out how to pass its levels, it's a very enjoyable experience. It has a variety of challenges, characters, and bosses. If you want to get frustrated and be challenged by a good game, this is the choice.
