Despite the negative perception the internet has given this game, it's my favorite of the trilogy. It has my favorite main cast and Alrest being a group of smaller titans compared to the 2 massive ones of Xenoblade 1 is one of my favorite evolutions of a game concept I've seen. The story is also impeccable and again my favorite of the trilogy, despite a more carefree and slow burn-style start.

Being the first Xenoblade on the Switch it does suffer from a multitude of visual issues, and it does have a lot of mobile game mechanics for some reason like the gacha-based Blade system or the Merc Missions taking real-world time to progress. Nevertheless it's still very fun, albeit lacking in overall polish
