Yeah it does but I enjoyed the crazy car gameplay enough to make the loop fresh

I would say it does feel like you need to grind to fight tougher enemies and bosses later in the game but there is also the option to lower the difficulty mid game which can help alleviate that time

IsaacAdept123456 reviewed Hi-Fi Rush
I had a shit load of fun with this one, a gorgeous stylized artstyle, lovable characters, a banging soundtrack and an addicting combat system that feels really good once you get a better hang of the rhythm and learn new combos.

It of course isn't perfect with the levels dragging out for too long at times when I feel like breaking them into smaller levels would've helped break that up for me and it does have its fair share of repetitive enemy encounters needing to constantly repeat the same partner attacks with cooldowns and not much more strategy, some of the bigger enemies can get pretty annoying and take way too long to kill later on. While Chai is pretty fun to use, his kit is pretty limited compared to other action games of this style so by the end I did feel bummed out that there wasn't much new core abilities or even having some additional weapon styles to learn to increase the longevity.

The pure joy I had with the game easily make these more nitpicks than anything. I was thinking how nice these problems could've been ironed out in the sequel but then I remembered MICROSOFT IS RAN BY FUCKING MORONS WHO KILLED THE COMPANY FOR SHORT TERM PROFITS. FUCK THEM
