the series was being brought to the west for the first time and was also being made in response to fire emblems inclusion in smash, i don't think it is at all unreasonable to assume they would want to acclimate an potential influx of new fans to the way the series works. 6 hours on the lyn story also seems kind of ridiculous lol

Why couldn’t it just be skippable from the get go? I know you can skip it if you beat the game once and there’s like zero plot in the Lyn stuff anyways. Also, the manual exist if you want to give tutorials. Or hell, put it in an optional page so people can read them and engage with the gameplay mechanics. Putting it into 1/4 of the game makes the game drag.

i do agree that it should be skippable from the get go even if some minor "true ending" stuff is locked behind certain things in lyn mode but its also just as easy to get a completed save file if you're emulating, especially because most people recommend you just do the hector section since it's just the main story with more/better

I emulate this stuff on my phone so putting a save file into the files is hell
