The excellent writing, visuals, and sound design of Kentucky Route Zero make for an incredibly engrossing atmosphere, doubled down by uniquely varied and engaging diologue trees. Despite a strong final few chapters, however, occasionally clunky exposition and character introductions prevent the mysterious and unsettling tone from prolonging throughout all five acts.

Although largely unoriginal, Huntdown effectively expands on the classic run and gun titles it is so clearly inspired by. This is most evident through vibrant animation and fantastic boss battles, which, despite occasionally unreliable mechanics, are enough to make this outing a must play for any fans of the genre.

The Last of Us 2 is a sequel faithful to it's predecessor. Returning characters' story arks are continued honestly and realistically, while less familiar faces breath new life into the franchise. Story beats vary in effectiveness, but a constant intensity, often enhanced by cleverly placed revelations and twists, made these weaker sections less of a hindrance to the overall pacing, especially considering the simple, yet incredibly refined gameplay.
