Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale finished in 100% total of 8 hours and 10 minutes is a game published by Level 5 in 2013 but it has aged super well, its scenery is hand drawn with a relaxing OST and an engaging story especially the innocence of the children is very cute.

The story of the game takes place in 26 non-linear episodes in the year 1971 in Setagaya, Tokyo in the suburb of Fuji no Hana. Telling the story of Sohta, a ten-year-old boy, who recently moved to the city and whose parents own a dry cleaner. The plot takes place with the sudden and unexplained mystery of huge fictional superheroes and kaiju who fight every Friday outside the city. and like a tokusatsu show recorded there too, It doesn't explicitly explain if this show was just a setup or really was a supernatural event, the game has a way of telling the story in a light way but not to the point of being so childish much less educational, everything is well balanced from a child's point of view I loved how the card battles were not punitive but for fun the children are just playing, and getting to know that small town and its residents is rewarding there are few people but they knew how to work with each one of them , to be honest I would love it to be much bigger the game but I understand that it was a low budget project but it managed to deliver something fun and cute playable
and mostly welcoming.
