Steam Next Fest - June 2023

A list of the demos I tried this Next Fest :3
Ranked by how much I enjoyed the demo and interest in the full game .w.

So far my favorite game of this year's second Next Fest :3
A visual novel with an interesting premise, fun characters and writing and a soundtrack that is 50% cute and relaxing and 50% w̵̝̎̐̊h̶͈̩̽̍̍͜ã̶͔͑̔ͅt̷̡͑̽͆ ̴̮̪̐̏̌͜t̴͎̙̻͆͊h̵̥͉͉̉̈̍é̵̹̰͓͌ ̵̢̈́̒́f̴̨͙̬̍͑u̶͍͂͒c̴̼͑k̴̫̲̥̍.

I didn't read the second episode yet, because I'd figured it'd be too much to re-read by the time the game is released on steam x)
The game seems to have already released elsewhere, but I'll wait until I can buy it on steam .w.
Big recommend :>
I'm in love with this game. When I saw first saw it I wasn't as interested, but playing it made me absolutely want to play the full game.
(+) Super fun gameplay, every game with a parry mechanic automatically gets 10-times better. Heavily reminds me of Ghost of Tsushima
(+) Very charming, dialogue is super silly and made me giggle a lot .w.
(+) Fun voice acting, every action has multiple recorded voice lines to not feel repetitive and make the game even more charming :>
(+) Simple but beautiful graphics and artstyle. Objects in the distance becoming blurry in a way that it looks like a painting, which is just so genius :O
(+) You can pet chickens!!!! >w<
(-) Nothing negative to say honestly, maybe adjust the motion blur to not look like the stock Unreal Engine blur that makes games feel generic, tho it's not as bad here :o

Go play it, it worth it :3
Though I absolutely recommend playing it on hard tho, without the challenge I can see the game being boring to play :O
A hero shooter without the shooting and instead with swords and magic. Worth giving a try in my opinion
(+) Controls feel unique, but not clunky
(+) Hitting someone feels so heavy and satisfying
(-) Made by NEXON
It's soo pweeettyyyyy >w<
(+) Beautiful pixel arts, besides the character portraits (they look a bit goofy) everything in this game looks super pretty
(+) Music sounds like it's from a retro JRPG, me like very much .w.
(+) Sound design is on point
(+) UI design is super quick and pleasant to look at, big plus for me
(+) Combat is turn-based, but with some active inputs that remind me of the Mario&Luigi games :O
(-) No variation in character portraits that could show more emotion :c

I'm super excited for this game .w.
It's so unbelievably cute *-*
(+) The animations are gorgeous and cute and adorable and aaaaa, i love them >w<
(+) You can make people trip and steal their phones
(~) It gives you more control over the cat compared to Stray, but feels more clunky too.
(-) Demo is very buggy and the lack of music feels kinda awkward :o
Hazuki fucking dies. A lot. And it's hilarious, I love it xd
Despite its silliness it has surprisingly good art, except the environments which look like your average RPG-Maker game.
And there's a hidden transflag in the game, vewy cool .w.
I love old DS games and their way too long tutorials. The beginning is very tedious and only serves to explain you the mechanics, so I can't say much yet, but it does look like a fun concept I look forward to trying out someday :)
Interesting looking strategy game :o
I don't play many strategy or tactical games, so I can't say much, but I thought it was kinda fun .w.
Only thing that bothered me were the sharp, high pitched menu sounds that made my ears bleed >:(
Interesting game? A bullet hell shooter with guns that all have aimbot. Sounds dumb but is kinda fun honestly. Needs some more polishing, maybe performance improvements, but overall kinda neat.
Very short demo though :o
A really unpolished game with great potential, that I don't see coming out of this game though. Its art and ideas are fun, definitely, but this game needs so much more polish that I don't see this game becoming anything more than mediocre at best. Still, I'm interested to see how it turns out.
(VERY late note)
Something about this is intriguing me :o
Played only a little bit. Feels smooth, I'll give it that, but the artstyle causes visibility issues and I just couldn't care enough to continue playing it :(
Also the game keeps you from changing the flashlight binding, which is on L. Bruh.
Vampire Survivors but you increase your power level by using more and more guns at the same time. It's silly, but that's about it really. Not too enjoyable honestly.
Interesting Demo?
It feels like it's just the base game, but you have a one hour timer and get kicked out, when it runs out. I don't have much to say to this one honestly, it also just throws you in without explaining anything, so I don't even know what was really happening xd.
(+) Fun battle UI
(-) Sound design felt off
It's cute, but also pretty boring :(
Also why is everything so zoomed in like it's made for a GBA screen? :o
I'm a simple gal, I see metroidvania, I click.
Unfortunately, this one I can only describe as "annoying" to play, although I think only a few little tweaks can change that already! :O
(+) Cool art and concept, although it's obvious from what this game is inspired by, my brain can only think of "Ender Lillies but you're in London" xd
(-) Enemies damage you when you just touch them, which wouldn't be a big deal, if you could dodge both ways and not just backwards, which causes you too accidentally backstepping into the enemy and then taking damage. And the backstep is a really big jump too, making fighting enemies on cliffs super annoying.
(-) Missing some polish. Button icons are low resolution, can't zoom in or out of the map, attack speed feels off.
Not my type of game, it's okay I guess.
