Reached 90% completion and saw there was yet another Golem mission so the game can fuck right off with that shit. All that aside it’s an exquisite and punishing yet fair brawler, everything available to the enemy is also available to you and that amps up the ferocious and varied gameplay, the animations are so beastly you’ll be feeling every snap and crack. Did not really enjoy the weapon focus and I wish the game had less of it.

It’s quite charming and jam packed with content for a mere GB JRPG. Love the trainer designs and how varied they all are, trainers in general help make the battles less random and meaningless which makes me surprised that other JRPG’s don’t bother including something like them to make battles more natural, I believe it’s a fine bridge between strictly no random encounters and only random encounters. Not that i mind random encounters. Ultimately a chill, fun adventure. Nothing more I can say really.

Good luck trying to do anything cool when your enemies fly away after 3 hits, what even is the point of a brawler centered around crowd control. Piss-poor non-engaging bosses, shit music, its just fucking boring.

I absolutely adore the way NieR manages to present its themes. Nier, despite being his own character, has a reason to be nameless. He's pretty much a stand-in for your average video-game protagonist and subsequently, the player as well. Before the true theme of the game begins unravel itself, during the entirety of the first play-through, the Shade's dialogue falls upon deaf ears. Whether or not Nier can understand what they're saying is irrelevant, he does not care because he is completely committed to his own preconceived self righteous notions regarding the conflict, with no regards to the lengths he'll go to.

As to why the player isn't informed, it's to completely immerse you in the mindset of Nier, because ultimately it is as much a criticism of him as it is of you, the player, and your preconceived notions on what constitutes as good and evil. When, during the finale, the camera cuts to a first person view to Yonah and she proclaims "It's you... isn't it?" everything begins to click in that split second, it's a gut-wrenching condemnation of your every self righteous belief held during the entirety of the first ending, and the lengths you went to in order to enact them.

"This girl loves her brother too. just as much as I do."

Utterly reprehensible backwater terrorists living in the Sahara desert still put in more effort towards impressively porting Metal Slug to the GBC than any Squenix “remaster” port

-major 2000's filter

Babe this isn't your average Sonic game this is fucking Drakengard

A wonderful game that is ruined by TRASH ASS GAME DESIGN, you never feel bored since it switches from lightgun section to beat em up section to being a sort of punishing fighting game boss fight, now those boss fights are not my problem at all, oh no no no, they're ok to great. My fucking PROBLEM is this game relying on vertical progression, you have 5 things you need to upgrade and they are the following
- Gun
-Armor
-Sword
-Kung-Fu
-Serum
neglecting to upgrade anything that impacts Blade's dmg means Blade will do piss-poor dmg in the next level, and your money doesn't fucking reset when you die, for example i upgraded kung-fu, blade and armor, neglecting gun which meant now my gun did piss-poor dmg in the mandatory gun stage and i just rage-quit this bitch. Oh and i forgot to mention they lock the stages you finish previously so you cant even go back to grind them for moolah

A visually groundbreaking, thoroughly joyous, and infinitely dazzling game that desires to make the player feel elated and to give them a positive dreamlike ride, which it beautifully orchestrates through crafting a unique and memorable experience that is sure to never leave your mind, the incredible amount of love, passion and creativity this game sports makes it a definite must-play.

a fantastic horror ride that manages to be incredibly human and relatable, a lot of the solutions to puzzles happen to be everyday household items such as air dryers, bleach, detergent, nail polish, clothes hanger, pork liver, matches and etc, this form of progression helps ground the game and give it a sense of realness which in turn enhances its already incredibly executed horror, it knows how to build up jumpscares well and the otherworld being more present and rustier and bloodier than ever also helps. Heather also has human reactions to monsters and the otherworld, not only via story cutscenes but through the feverishly personalized flavor text, contemplating on calling the cops, reactions to the variety of horrors present in the otherworld, etc all of this boils down together to create an amazing experience. The gameplay side of things has been ironed out at last, the weapon variety is appreciated and most importantly the bosses all manage to be engaging and memorable as opposed to the series's previous Mexican standoff battles. Visually its entrancing and mesmerizing, the cutscene direction specifically.

Strongest and most consistent atmosphere in the series besides RE1. The sound design, heralded by none other than Nobuyoshi Sano himself is nothing short of masterful and haunting, ambience and subtlety are a horror strength oft ignored. What’s already there visually is incredible on its own but with a man of his talent enhancing it through meticulous sound design? Holy shit. I thought the story was alright, it’s mostly carried by its setting and being short and cohesive, the relationship between Bruce and Fongling was neat. The light-gun gameplay mixed into third person was refreshing and fun, i really wish there was more of this. Awesome game overall.

“A “Don-Gua” never abandons a woman.”

tried it for an hour to check it out, not leaving a score of any kind as to not be unfair, im not and will never be into VN's. art on this was pretty good, how emotive the characters are is impressive, i dig that its a mecha story too (mecha chads unite) and the environmental art was great aswell.

There’s a skeleton of a game that could’ve been an intense and incredible horror experience, a metroidvania about exploring a wrecked spaceship that may be filled with H.R. Giger designed aliens and deadly robots? Fuck yeah! But it’s execution leaves a lot to be desired, the gameplay is trite, it has no difficulty whatsoever and was clearly an afterthought considering how janky it is, even aliens can be taken down with ease, or you can just spam dodge through everyone. The animations and the way enemies react to damage is not great either, and the music was annoying, i wish more games understood that subtlety, silence and ambience can offer a better horror experience over a generic intense action track thats repeated endlessly.

Awfully generic with terrible gameplay to boot, kicking off my horror list with a banger..

It was a pretty exquisite experience, the way the game was visually coherent in its presentation till the very end is astonishing, especially the forest leading up to the very door of Dracula’s Castle and the castle itself, from a downtrodden, broken down beginning section to an entire stage fully covered in all kinds of treasure, highlighting the vanity of the ever illusive Dracula.
Gameplay wise my complaint is some bullshit in the later stages and the new whip gimmick being just that, a gimmick, it’s never really necessary and if anything kind of breaks the difficulty of the game in earlier stages, don’t get me wrong i like it and i find it fun but it had so much untapped potential and that aspect leaves me disappointed. The game overall felt like a worse version of Rondo of Blood, especially the Dracula boss, I love it lots but it just doesn’t compare to Rondo. Music was fantastic and visuals were superb.
