Souls Games ranked by their poison swamps

There is no such thing as a good poison swamp level, however there are degrees to how terrible they are, so Im ranking these games by how much or little their poison levels made me want to throw my computer out the window

There is no such thing as a good poison level, dark souls 2 understands this as both of its poison areas can be run through incredibly fast, thus clinching the number one spot

1

Elden Ring
Elden Ring
Elden Ring's lake of rot is genuinely close to being almost alright. Unfortunately it has the prawn monsters, and they can all die in a fire

2

Dark Souls: Remastered

Blighttown isnt even that bad, especially if you take the short way. But first time player will find the long way excruciatingly annoying and challenging. Part of the journey of course but due to the interconnected world and odd warping system, players will have to backtrack through this area multiple times, which kind of wears you down

3

Dark Souls III
Dark Souls III
Farron keep sucks ass. I hate it. Its way too long

4

Demon's Souls

Miyazaki genuinely created the worst poison area on his first attempt. Unbearably long, annoying status effects (plague and poison), bastard enemies like the big giants. Ladders that lead your ass straight into the clubs of the dredglings without a buffer or lube. And of course a swamp that prevents rolling, making my shieldless build a sitting duck during combat.

If it werent for the absurdly broken spell you get from the tower knight letting you tank the damage (but not the poise damage which is annoying) and using every ranged and melee cheese imaginable you can quickly make your way through this nightmare
