Though it took me more than double the time of the first one to complete, it didn't really feel like more gameplay, blown up with cutscenes and voice acting. That's fine, especially as Creepy Tale 2 kind of explains the world a bit more, but other than that, the puzzles are mostly trial and error, frustration to a learning curve. Switch version omits achievements, I couldn't care less though. Don't know if it's really worth its asking price, but it's a decent addition to the first one.

Wow, after being stuck too much in a not seeming to end Our World Is Ended, I was dying to have a break with a short puzzle Platformer just as I liked Creepy Tale for. Having the sequel on backlog almost since I finished the first one, having paid 7,99€ which is a lot for me buying indies, I also felt the need to not have it lying around too long.
Anyway, I just got surprised it changed quite a bit. The artstyle was improved as were other things like you know have an english dub, even though it has a slight to heavy east european accent. The text however is much better in English than translated to German, which often reads like coming straight from Google without any native speaker, or even someone to understand which translation fits to the game, ever looking over it (example: the month "March" is translated with "Marsch" like in "to march" instead of "März". This does look especially weird being written in a diary).
The game itself however has a story with some more dark fairytale depth to it and is playing as an adventure, almost like point'n'click, just that you point by walking close. No jump button as well, just an action button, in those cases interacting with a jump symbol popping up as hotspot.
Just as I thought Creepy Tale 2 to be easier than the first one, there was a puzzle I needed to understand moving around objects first. So those moments I think I'm stuck with no option left are included. Other puzzles though, once understood, require you to repeat the same action twice when one additional time would have been enough. And then, way too often for my taste, you've got to pull another action hit, even when your understanding and intention was crystal clear anyway. Sometimes even those follow up actions have to be done thrice totally unnecessary, as there's nothing to stop you from succeeding anyway. But, there's plenty of exploring otherwise, looking at and combining stuff, so I'd rather vote for any interaction than getting rid of too much of it.
