Okay, this one is a doozy. Let's start off by saying that I am the type of person who encourages artists to make the art they want to make. A big aspect of why I think people don't like this game is because the storytelling isn't what they wanted. I feel people wanted a game similar to the first, being a game centered around Ellie and Joel wandering the US. That isn't what we got, and I think that is a good thing.
This game deserves so much credit for committing to its themes and having its own artistic vision. There are a few story beats that are a bit jarring, like characters traveling to new locations, but this game is an unforgettable experience that deserves so much more love, or at least one play-through instead of a shitty YouTube essay.
