A solid start to the legendary series! Though it lacks in story compared to the other games and the final boss can be real rough, it's easy to see why this took the gaming world by storm back in the day.

I almost like this more than the main game! A nice little expansion to wrap up this entire saga in a bow, with some mechanics I had issues with in the base game getting some surprising tweaks I really appreciated.

A phenomenal remake of an already great game! While the voice acting is a little stilted for some characters, the gameplay and overall characterization of the cast are massive improvements I couldn't have foreseen.

Potential GOTY 2023 for me!

It is astonishing that a completely free, April Fool's Day visual novel game is one of the best Sonic games in the last couple years.

Gameplay is okay, but the art and the writing are top notch and a lot of love went into it.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon is not only my new favorite entry in the Yakuza franchise, it is also one of the JRPGs I've ever played, and one of the best games I've ever played PERIOD.
The story and gameplay are as hilarious as it is emotional, the characters are loveable and Ichiban is more than a worthy successor to Kazuma Kiryu as the franchise's new protagonist. I cannot recommend it enough, and what an amazing way to cap off the Yakuza marathon I started with my friend/LP cohost way back when the pandemic started after 8 games.

I EAGERLY await the arrival of Like A Dragon 8 next year. What a ride!

While the story or characters may not be QUITE as memorable or impactful as Three Houses' was for me, this is the best a Fire Emblem game has looked and played in a long time. The cutscenes are gorgeous and the soundtrack is great, too!

Despite some issues I had with the earlier portion of the game, once you take the time to learn how it works, this is a solid JRPG, especially for one based on a licensed property! Worth it if you like JRPGs and are a One Piece fan.

Damn great remaster of an already great game! Any issues I might have are nitpicks at best. An otherwise polished version of an experience I loved back then and still love today. Here's hoping 2 and 3 get remastered sooner than later!

Hi-Fi Rush so far is my game of the year and it's only FEBRUARY!

An absolutely INCREDIBLE game! The art, animation, level design, and gameplay are on point, and all of it being synced to music and rewarding you for following along with it is damn near immaculate and never gets boring for a second. A MUST play if you have an XBox or a PC!

One of the best PSP games got a much-needed facelift. It doesn't fix every issue I had with the original game and some of the voice acting is a bit stilted compared to the original's, but it is still a great time.

I actually really enjoyed this one...for the most part. Nero is a fun addition to the cast, difficulty is reasonable compared to past games, but the backtracking as Dante and the repeating boss fights dragged it down quite a bit.

The story is hilariously melodramatic, levels were too easy, short and repetitive in theme variation, and Classic Sonic's levels were an unnecessary and horrible.

It's by no means a bad game under the hood, but it's not a great one either.

While they are not NEARLY perfect games, as they are very much flawed games thanks to all of the performance issues, what you have beneath all that are the best Pokémon games since Black & White. Great story, characters, INCREDIBLE music, and fun new Pokémon and mechanics.

I have been with the franchise since Red/Blue and this is the most fun I've had with the series probably even since Gold/Silver/Crystal.

My hope is that GameFreak either patches all the issues out, or take what they've done right and work to fix what they didn't in the next entry.

One of the freshest feeling platformers I've ever played. Almost no level, mechanic or idea overstayed its welcome. The amount of detail and thought put into the game is stunning.

That said, Dr. Hakim is a foul creature who must be purged from the earth

I can easily see why people consider this to be the cream of the crop in the DKC trilogy, as it's paced much better and doesn't reuse themes and mechanics as much as the first game, but holy crap is it HARD!
