I picked this over Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. Biggest mistake

This a tough one for me to say as a Kingdom Hearts fan. I'm not here to be an elitist about KH2 being my favorite and KH1 being super awesome as well. Both games have their flaws and offer different experiences than KH3, especially since KH1 & KH2 are much older games and we had other games that filled in between the main titles such as DDD (which I have played, did not jump straight to 3). I honestly was super excited to play this when I first got it, but man did it disappoint me. It is not fun to play. Don't get me wrong, there were things in this game that were done well, but it feels mixed for me. Keyblade designs were great and transformations, some of the worlds like BH6 and Monstropolis were fun to be in. However, issues like the music. Besides Face my fears, Don't think twice, and already established music in the KH series, I do not find the music memorable in this game. Some of the Disney worlds were not implemented well. Frozen, Tangled, and Pirates being the worst ones. It is fine to retell the movie since that was what happened in KH2 like with Mulan for example, but it didn't feel like Sora and the gang was tacked onto the world feeling like an afterthought. They felt fully integrated into the plot and characters of the current events in that world. BH6 implemented this best imo. May have been better for more originality or inclusion of Sora and the gang by adding in second visits or something. Although I may be inconcise about my issues here, this is stuff that bothered me personally about why I am not the biggest fan of this game. I want to give it more praise, but I can't. The ReMind DLC did not help with any of these issues either, especially since the base KH3 game had hardly no post-game content. Even KH2 had more, but was still lackluster until KH2FM came out. Vanilla KH1 did a better job in offering more extra content than 3. I say this so no one thinks Im just riding KH2, other games in the series had something more to it than KH3. I am currently doing a 2nd playthrough of KH3 on critical mode and I hope some things may change for me.

I feel as though the combat and the utility of the cards are far more engaging than KH3, despite most of the game being somewhat retelling of previously established events.

Kingdom Hearts is top tier. I am a bigger fan of KH2, but Kingdom Hearts is where it all started and where the love for the characters, the combat, and the simple story (at the time) made everything feel so amazing.
