I can't believe it. Turns out that the solution to open-world fatigue is playing a very good open world game.

What From did here is nothing short of masterful. The sense of discovery I got from exploring every nook and cranny is incredible. It's also worth mentioning that I'm not a fan of souls games, or at least, I thought I wasn't. Elden Ring is so good that it's making me re-assess my relationship with From's games. I cannot wait to play their entire catalogue tbh.

Elden Ring isn't perfect though. There's definitely padding in the open world not every moment is great. It's an open world game that subverts so many open world tropes but not all of them. And some of the areas (especially catacombs) are reflective of this.

I'm giving this a 5/5 for now because I truly feel this is a masterpiece despite it's shortcomings. It's an experience I cherish and the 130 hours I invested flew by.
