The criticisms of P3R not being the definitive version that many had hoped it'd be aren't entirely unfounded. What is, is the way that the game's staunchest critics are going about airing their complaints. It's not that serious guys, just be glad that a new generation of people who've likely only played P5 get to experience the series' narrative peak.

A perfect sequel. Retains everything that was great about the original while fixing, or at least largely smoothing over everything that wasn't so great. It doesn't hit the same absurdist heights as its predecessor and in general it's a much more straightforward game, which could be disappointing to some, but it's just so well made that I can't bring myself to truly knock it for that.

Kinda slaps ngl. There's plenty of detractors mind you, whether it be the generic fortnite UI, the full suite of f2p schlock bagging it down, the braindead AI announcers (which turning off is an absolute must for peak enjoyment), or the fact that it's in dire need of a hell of a lot of balances and tweaks. But the core Battlefield/Apex/Smash TV mishmash gameplay is actually really damn fun. Not too confident in the game having true legs, and it definitely needs more modes and maps if it has any aspirations of achieving that. But for the moment it's a nice alternative to the modern day titans of the multiplayer shooter genre.
