One of the games from my childhood where I was completely blown away by the amount of freedom this bad boy gave you.

Gameplay is cracking, the mechanics are solid, and the collectibles hunting is addictive as hell.

What a great game, I wonder if the sequel will be even better.

Ok, this game is one of the greatest ever made, but jesus christ, watching someone else play this for the first time is painful.

This was the game that was always brought out at family gatherings. While others sat down, we plucky few set up the drums, guitars and mic to form our own shitty Fab Four.

I was a beast on the vocals though, because I was the only one who could match Ringo's tone of voice.

Too short and the story is dire.
The gameplay has a few extra tweaks, the mind trick ability is a personal favourite. And more unlockable skins.
But the finishers get very tedious and it all feels too rushed.
And you never get to fight Boba Fett, and that's the biggest crime of all.

The grind is slow, the enemies just keep coming, and the big battle levels with the sections n shit can get pretty frustrating.

Will probably finish later, but I got so pissed off last night.

The fact that you don't get together with Emily is the whole point of the game, you horny degenerates.

A LEGO Game with a lot of new, funky mechanics, but this may just be me, but my copy on the Wii is glitched and bugged to shit.

Will complete this at a later date.

Oh, and running around the hub for hours, trying to find certain characters to unlock is painful.

From playing this game, I learnt that my singing voice matches Elton John's and Freddie Mercury's and not young Michael Jackson's.

Oh, and the game has a cracking selection of songs.

The Jacksepticeye LetsPlay is even funnier than playing the game yourself.

It was good back in the day, but Jesus Christ, I don't remember it glitching and crashing this much.

Kek game. I can go for hours.

Truly a gamechanger in LEGO Games history. A massive open world to play about in and voiced characters that aren't clipped lines from the movies? Smashing!

The story is low-key great, the open world has a lot (maybe too much) to keep you busy, the gameplay is as solid as usual, it's the whole package.

Aside from the odd glitch or crash, I can't sing this things praises enough. A lot of fun and a major evolution on the LEGO Game formula.

LEGO Batman 2: Upgrade
LEGO Marvel Superheroes: Perfect

Pretty much flawless in every way possible.

It's got a fun, cracking story, a wide and varied collection of characters to play as and a more refined open world to muck about in.

A young Marvel fan's dream come true.

This was the shit back in the day, man. This, Mario Kart Wii and Wii Sports were the ones for me.

Many see LEGO Games as a big sellout, but they're very wrong.

I think what makes a LEGO Game so addictive is the easy controls, well-designed levels (most of the time) the wide range of characters that you have the choice to play as, all with their own mechanics and functions that spruce up gameplay and keep it interesting. As well as the compulsive need to complete the game.

Collecting studs is so satisfying. I will never not get tired of absorbing a massive pile of studs, watching the stud meter fill up. Studs!

It also helps that I'm a lifelong Star Wars fan and lifelong LEGO Collector. (I say Collector, but it's more of an addiction at this point) I know people who were introduced to Star Wars thanks to this game. That's gotta count for something.

Despite my five star rating, I must say this: Vehicle Levels are dreadful. Besides the Mos Espa Podrace, the rest of them are not fun unless you have the extras enabled. (Looking at you, Gunship Cavalry) So many precious studs were lost in these levels.

And some of the solutions to get Minikits or Red Bricks are very odd and don't always apply to the set mechanics in the game. Some of them require your own ingenuity, which I guess is kinda cool. But very frustrating if you can't figure out what to do. A far cry from LEGO Games today.

However....

Fourteen years on, it still holds up. A pinnacle and respected piece of Gaming Culture. As someone who has played many LEGO Games in his time, I think The Skywalker Saga will be the culmination of every single game Traveller's Tales has made. Every mechanic, level design, character function formulated will all come together in this bad boy.

And it wouldn't have been possible with this Chad amongst Chads.
