Definetely as good as the original, and it still feels quite magical to play with friends.

The fact that this game is as good and as vanilla as it is never fails to astound me. Like it's really good and looking back on it, It didn't any gimmicks, they just made a game that was so well crafted that it didn't need anything else except itself.

Quite amazing, it's probably the best NES Mario game by a mile. I think it's mostly remembered because it didn't feel like a game that came out when it did, and it stands the test of time because of it.
