If you isolate Sonic's stages, there's some things to like here. The level design is actually really good at times, like really REALLY good. But Sonic's physics are awful, and when you mix that with the janky collisions, it means it's nearly impossible to appreciate any of it.

The PC port by ChaosX really is what helped me notice the level design is great and that it deserves some appreciation.
