loved, but not as much as part I ofc. in Part II the primary theme focuses on the cyclical nature of revenge. how hatred breeds hatred, provoking the audience to question their own morals, begging the question of, “what length would you go to for the ones you love?” this notion is explored through stepping in the shoes of the characters and experiencing their trauma and pain in which turbulently shifted their own questionably irrational morals. this is all beautifully conveyed in a thematically heartfelt and gut wrenching plot that seamlessly transitions from Part I (ps. abby is muscle mommy af !)

the gameplay in this was chefs kiss, usually in video games grinding can be a chore, but i genuinely enjoyed grinding in here. the boss battles were also pretty great. the only thing lacking was character depth and the mediocre plot. the story wasn’t the worst but it wasn’t anything to write home about. regardless, i still thoroughly enjoyed my time playing ys origins, and am excited to get into the other games as this was my first entry point into the franchise ((:
