I played this game between some larger ones and it was a really nice "reset" game. Cozy story and setting and I found it really rewarding going for the collectibles as one of the main collectibles enhances your ability of traversing the world. I love it when collectibles actually impact the gameplay. Collecting them all isn't necessary to finishing the game but if you do go out of the way to get them then it improves your experience and rewards you.
I had a decent time with this. I found that a lot of the humour was "How long can we draw out this dialogue" which had me rolling my eyes after the first few times. However when they weren't going for this style I found it got quite a few laughs out of me.
The gunplay did the job but it felt like it was lacking any impact. The pacing was good though with introducing a new gun with different gameplay every hour or so.

I had more fun with this than I expected to. I am not usually a fan of Call of Duty games but someone challenged me to finishing the game on the hardest difficulty.
Some parts had me pulling out my hair but there is something satisfying about a game just being about you and the objective. No collectibles or "fluff". It also encourages taking your time, checking your surroundings, throwing grenades around blind corners, etc. All of this combined with the constant chaotic sound effects and enemy/ally dialogue I was really impressed how well they pulled off an intense war setting and feel in 2005.
This is the first Call of Duty game I have ever finished and I am glad I did. It felt very rewarding achieving 100%.
