Dark Souls 3 feels like such a massive aversion to having new cool stuff at the cost of having "fans" mad. There are actual things DS2 did bad that could be rectified here, and they were because it was mostly early game feeling like dog ass dude to agility, but after that, it is still another great Souls game with probably too much enemies in places. Dark Souls 3, in turn, wants you remember just how great Dark Souls 1 was, and perhaps worsening the normal enemy design from 2.

Thats my main negative feeling towards this game is just normal enemies are way too tuned and aggressive, AND they will often throw a couple of those ones at you at the same time. It just sours the non boss experiences of this game just because they probably wanted to up the difficulty. I mean I still got through it with relative ease, but fuck I dont like it.

The level design is still stellar however. Fun to explore levels that look great. The lack of the world being super interconnected is weighted by the levels being super connected internally.

Pretty much all the bosses are good and par for the course, but I don't particularly super care for any of them except maybe Soul of Cinder and Vordt.

The story is still pretty cool too, I love the idea that people linked the flame way too fucking much and everything sucks ass because of it, shit HAS to change, but no one really wants to do it, or even knows how perhaps. They will link the fire, usher in a age of dark, or even just do nothing like the princes, but it is all stagnancy. This world is stagnant and on the verge of dying, and everything is coalescing together. Now this concept is pretty fucking good except the only thing that really seems to be coalescing is Dark Souls 1. Dark Souls 2 does have a lot of items and stuff, but an overwhelming amount of story/locations/bosses are just call backs to DS1. I don't think it would feel nearly as self-conscious if they split the redoing of stuff. I do actually love how Fromsoft reuses shit all the fucking time between games, but it just feels gratuitous in this game. Yes, I remember Anor Londo, and I also remember Drangleic.

In summary, I think this game plays good, looks good, has good levels, and good bosses, but is painted over with more annoying normal enemies and feels almost empty because of it doesn't have too much of its own thing going on.
