Until Odyssey I never really clicked with mario games (apart from the 6 golden coins and super mario world weirdly) but my love for the series has been growing with each one I've gotten myself to play and each time I find it easier to get hooked.

Three is at least when I've heard about it, been highly regarded as one of the best in the series and I can see why now, the overworld is a lot more fun when you are a (less) ham handed adult instead of a (more) ham handed child and its powerups, secrets and minigames really keep everything fresh, and being able to store an absolute armory of powerups for the later worlds was wildly fun.

I'll definitely be revisiting the mario games I've played when I can find the time I think. They really have more than earned their place as some of the most famous and well regarded games around and I feel like a fool for having missed out for so long.
