great story, better characters.
my only real problem was that a few of the fights were either incredibly annoying or painfully difficult.
combine that with my lack of d&d experience and the minimal tutorial at the start. there were some things i didn’t realise you could do until i was in act 3

The game is great in the first two acts, easily a five star. But the third act drops the ball so extremely hard it's upsetting. Performance is just horrible in the third act, even on my pretty old pc who could run the first two acts perfectly fine.

Big surprise, tabletop RPG combat does not translate well into a video game combat system. I'd rather skip it.
wipes comically large bead of sweat off brow "Ermm.. you can ackhully talk.. your way.. out of.... lotsss.. of..- en-encounters-uhh" loses breath and has to lay flat on back
Wow that's actually freaking wholesome! Hmm, I'm pretty sure I can actually skip every single combat encounter if I just play something else..

If you want BG3 but with passable combat just play DoS 2.
