Capcom Classics Collection Revisits #3

While it's spiritual prequel Street Fighter 1 has aged like moldy ass cheese, Final Fight has only aged like fine wine. Just an absolutely perfect yet simple plot, the mayor's daughter gets kidnapped by the city-controlling street gang for leverage against him? Good thing the mayor is a former pro wrestler who can snap all of those pencil-necked fucking thugs in half with his bare hands.

To say that Final Fight is satisfying to play would be understating it, because few beat'em ups can match the satisfaction I get from playing as Haggar and piledriving an Andore through a massive crowd of enemies. I owe a ton to this game for not only redefining the entire genre, but also spawning two of my favorite grapplers in the history of video games, the man Haggar himself and Hugo Andore who would go on to be playable in Street Fighter III. The only thing I dislike about the game are the sudden bumrushes from offscreen by the fat guys and Abigail's entire existence, otherwise nothing too shitty for an arcade title that could do a ton worse.

Just an absolutely awesome game for it's time, anyone who is even remotely a fan of the genre is missing out if they don't give this a try. Capcom still better make Damnd playable in Street Fighter 6.

Never been a fan of these games, but I respect Haggar.
