One of the best games of the past decade, a blend of character action and rhythm that's so expertly done, with incredible music choices both for the licensed tracks and the stream-friendly alternates.

Fuck microsoft for killing this studio.

I'm gonna try hard to finish this one but leaving this here in the very likely scenario that I don't. I went into this one with an open mind despite what I heard and... yeah. This ain't no Dead Space. It has some great qualities that make it worth checking out like its visuals, the weighty feel of the combat, the death animations, and the performances on display from the cast. However, on the whole it's not that fun or scary and leaves me kinda apathetic whenever I play it. It's way too linear and the enemies aren't very interesting.

Maybe it'll improve and win me over but so far it's just kind of okay. And also it performs kinda weird, framerate drops a lot.

I'm not sure what's version of the game is the best one to play as a new player, but I loved the 3DS release, I think it's on PC now? Classic RPG maker horror though that's campy, absurd, and horrifying all at once. A classic.

A game I am too stupid to finish, but it's probably my favorite puzzle game? Twists my brain into a pretzel but has some of the most interesting design ever. Lovely music and simple art that sticks with you too.

The best Soulslike to be made from a non Fromsoft studio. Wears its inspiration on its sleeves but also takes the time to iterate and improve upon the formula in a way that's fresh and exciting (fromsoft pls steal the health system pls). The story's take on Pinocchio is also really cool and interesting, was way more engaged with it than I expected to be. Polished to a mirror shine too for the most part, if you like these kindsa games you definitely need to give it a try.

The best story Rockstar has ever made, and possibly the most vibrant and life-filled world they've ever made, while also having some of the most restrictive and tedious missions in any of their main storylines. My first run was absolutely mindblowing and definitely cemented it as a favorite, but I find upon replays that there's a lotta stuff I wish I could just skip through.

Also it controls super weird but all their games have a very specific control scheme that's pretty unique to them, so that's to be expected.

Originally played it on PS4 but it's probably best played on PC these days to really bring out all the detail, and of course then you can mod the stuff that's tedious.

I suck ass at this game but it's excellent arcade shooter that I bet looks downright nauseating if you're a really really good player. Love the visual design. It's pretty creepy.

Addictive and fun arcadey shooter with simple controls and easy to grasp mechanics. Kinda hard, but I also might just suck at it. Would have killed for something like this to smuggle on a thumbdrive on school computers or on an office computer to play when there's nothin to do.

My first memory of this game was when it was a 2D game, and the tutorial baited me into accidentally smothering my wife to death. I think that shocker made me look at games in a completely different way. I'm not sure if this is still in the game at all? But it left an impression, that's for sure.

It's changed a lot since then and now is an expansive 3D open world zombie sandbox that can be customized to play however you want, with tons of mods. I'm not good at it all but it's a blast to run around and die in increasingly funnier ways as I try to get a grasp on the tons of systems. I quite like it in the same way I enjoy Kenshi.

Not the first RE game I played, but this was the one that made me a fan of the franchise. I love the Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibes, scary as hell.

A darker followup to Steins;gate that I think I liked a smidge less than the first game, but not by much cuz it's still excellent. Worthy sequel / side story that expands a lot on the dark realities hinted at in the original game and tells a fresh story with the great cast of characters + some new folks like Maho that feel like they always belonged there. Love it a lot.

The first japanese VN I ever played, and still one of my favorite narratives in fiction, with one of my favorite protagonists in anything cuz of how he's so silly and weird but slowly becomes serious and determined as the plot gets darker and more serious. Excellently written.

El Psy Kongroo.

I think the writing is really weak and generic to the point but oh man it's a really fun game to play, and the developers have given it a lotta years of love and additional content. Really fun and threatening world with some of the best feeling first person combat I've enjoyed. Can be wild with friends too. Visually still looks great even years later.

I like the story in this less than SMTIV but it's a really good follow up otherwise, improves on most everything from a gameplay perspective. I didn't have a problem that the story went for an angle playing on traditional JRPG tropes / tropes that atlus themselves set up in persona, i thought it was fitting since the game had more of a teenage rebellion vibe to it. I just think the way the story plays out is weirdly paced and while the finale is AMAZING it's a little strange how you get there.

Love the cast of characters though, music's phenomenal, the new demon designs are fantastic. Kinda hope it and IV get some kind of remaster in the future.
