Games with persistent "Pause/Skip" buttons during cutscenes
I know what button skips a cutscene, I am five hours in!
This is a list of games where UI elements - particularly the option to "skip" or "pause" - persist on screen when the game has transitioned to a cutscene. A lot of games have different levels of cutscenes, so I'm specifically looking for ones where the game has fully transitioned out of gameplay to show something more cinematic, pre-rendered, or which otherwise has made a firm distinction between player agency and story. In other words: being able to fast-forward or view logs when reading through dialog in Persona or Yakuza wouldn't count, but when they drop out to pre-rendered cutscenes and have similar buttons would.

This really bothered me when I played Phantasy Reverie, its such a small thing but it bothered me to no end.
Any Yakuza game has the "press A to fast forward" on the bottom right corner of the screen during plenty of cutscenes.
@zeroesandones Not quite. What I'm looking for is something more consistent rather than it being a function that feeds into the mechanics of the game. "Fast forward" or "skip scene," stuff like that.
@MrWarm You and me both.
@Lemonstrade My familiarity with yakuza is pretty limited. Lost Judgment had this but only some of the time. If you can throw a specific one out I'll add it for you.

I don't know which game in the series specifically started the trend with the prompt (as I'm pretty sure it wasn't in the PS2 duology), so feel free to just include Lost Judgment (as you've also seen it for yourself there).
@Lemonstrade done just that. Thank you!
I'm playing Yakuza 6 now and it's there constantly. I don't remember the others being so obtrusive 🤔

Baldur's Gate 3 has a few buttons in the bottom left corner that never go away in cutscenes. I don't remember what any of them do because I never once used them in a 100 hour playthrough. I think one is a conversation log?
The 2 or 3 cutscenes of Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX just always show on the bottom right corner you can hold the button to skip.
how do first-person games fit into this? Something like Half Life where you move during the "cutscenes" or other games where you can't but they keep the perspective and UI?
Arkane really dropped the ball here with Dishonored.

@Lehuan I've updated the language and name of the list to hopefully make it more clear. I didn't put much thought into this, I just saw the big "SKIP" button in P3R and thought "Man, Klonoa did this shit, too."
