I have never played a game like Dark Souls III. As overused as the word is, I cannot think of a better way to describe it than an experience. It is an unforgiving, brutal adventure that rewards your frustration and hours of repeated efforts with the elusive feeling of true satisfaction once you finally reach that glorious flame, the light that will keep pushing you to save the rotting world and tell you that you CAN do it. It rewards you with more knowledge of a beautifully crafted, tragic world, unforgettable visuals, limitless ways to play and an experience that can be shared with so many others both in-game and out. After finally reaching the end, it is a game that I felt I just had to reflect on, to really piece together how special a game like this is. Every 'bad', or less than tolerable area or boss would lead to something that would make up for it in almost every case. Dark Souls III may have its lower points (as with any game), but in the end I truly believe that the hours upon hours of frustration was worth the complete experience of the game as a whole. After all, light cannot exist without darkness.
