An incredible game that is severely limited by the hardware this is on. A full fledged version of this game with better visuals and controls on a console could honestly be one of Nintendo's best games. It's still up there as one of the best games of the decade though, and I am STILL waiting for a sequel.

Uprising is the revitalization of a hopelessly dead franchise that dozens of others would DREAM of. It somehow manages to touch one of the few genres that Nintendo hadn't before at the time (third-person shooter, before Splatoon) and hit it out of the park. The crafting/RPG systems of the game and the fluid, satisfying combat create a memorable and addictive gameplay experience all backed by to this day one of the consistently best voice acting in any Nintendo game ever, holding together the narrative to the very end with memorable characters, quips, and twists. This is a very special game, especially because we have yet to see another Kid Icarus game since then, but is incredible and does not deserve to be forgotten by anyone, especially (hopefully) Nintendo themselves.

As a side note, I did mention the controls already but playing this as a lefty was probably the most awkward and awful control-related experiences that I've ever had in my life and yet the game was so good I had no desire to stop because of it.

9/10
