Incredible, the ultimate example of what an open world game can be. There are no towers to climb here - it’s like a video game version of having a great dungeon master who stocked their world with unique and interesting dungeons then said “go wild.”

The variety of weapons, ashes of war, spells, and items add more options than any other Fromsoft title, and the ability to leave and explore at your own pace reduces the stress of those other games too. However, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the frankly awful artificial difficulty spike that is uncharacteristic of Fromsoft’s design. From the last 80% of the game, enemies both basis and boss will suddenly be dealing double damage they were and become sponges for health. Worse still, a few bosses simply NEVER stop attacking. It’s like being a dark souls character fighting a sekiro boss sometimes.

That doesn’t ruin the game at all, just a very minor gripe in an otherwise perfect game. I beat it three times! It made up over 40% of my entire game time in 2022.
