if youre like me and only boot up the sims because building houses are fun, you will love this game. my one complaint is very subjective but also is enough to diminish how much i like it: the game is so fucking ugly. that shouldnt matter but to me it does. i dont like decorating my houses nearly as much as just sandboxing in the sims because the overall furniture is ugly and the textures are this weird uncanny realism (the wood in particular is offensive). this is not constructive, which is something i try to be when i leave negative reviews but thats really the only reason i dont play this game. i like the indepth house plans and the ui and the feeling of really building up each house you buy/renovate, it's just... ugly.

one of the greatest in games i dont shut up about. the day i stop imposing pepper steak on anyone who enters my friend group is the day i collapse into a pile of dust on the floor. only criticism is that the combat is definitely lacking. this makes sense and works in the games favor in a few places but otherwise its very standard and kind of a drag when you have to go through it every few minutes. did not dampen my experience significantly though

be careful! if you say in chat that you beat this game, it will sound like a euphemism for "masturbation" !

Initial grind for unlocks can be annoying at times, but the amount of replayability in this game makes it worth. every run feels fun and fresh, even when you're 150+ hours deep and still have 4/5s of the items to unlock. afterbirth was already a massive upgrade from its predecessor, but the repentance update added so much content with double the characters and items. common edmund & kilburn W
