A great game ruined by some really poor design choices.
A army of dangerous enemies (that spam moves like they're on coke) are trying to revive the mighty Ganon and bring doom upon Hyrule. And what does Link brings to the fight? The a̶b̶o̶v̶e̶ ̶a̶v̶e̶r̶a̶g̶e̶ tiniest butter knife ever found in videogames and no combat knowledge.
Dude can't swing his sword and only learns two techniques that lets him stab up or down as he jumps. For a game that relies on combat it's such a sin.
This game could've been okay if they got rid of the "Life or got back to the beginning" system and let you continue from the dungeon or closest city. So frustrating.
Only thing REALLY good about it it's the Game Over screen (that you'll be seeing every time). Acknowledging your failure by reviving Ganon brings actual consequences and value to your journey, instead of the classic but tiresome Game Over screens. Haven't seem that since Majora's Mask.
Hard to believe this game follows the masterpiece that is the first Zelda. I've seen a bunch of reviews trying to justify t on NES limitations, but ain't no hardware limitation if it's predecessor has all the qualities missing in it.
