contrary to its presentation and initial gameplay, chaos legion is nothing like devil may cry
the exaggerated, emo, anime stylings are all there, as is the production of the music (which is fucking awesome) but what starts off as a mindless hack n slash quickly becomes a painfully unforgiving strategy game that's more about bringing the right tools to a fight rather than technical combat or flashy combos
equipping the wrong legions for a boss can be the difference between a 2 minute washout and a 10 minute chipfest, and unfortunately the tutorials do a pretty terrible job of telling you that - they're poorly translated, brief, and barely even helpful in the first place. the actual manual doesn't fare much better, so i strongly recommend checking a player-made beginners guide on gamefaqs unless you get off on trial and error - cause you're gonna be doing a lot of it
highly recommended despite the steep learning curve!

@cvit not really because at the time i just searched for any resources i could find in general to better understand what was going on. i'll give you the most important info right here though:
1. enemies come in two varieties - organic and metallic. some enemies consist of both organic and metallic parts. for example: the spawner has an organic body and a metallic antenna, making malice really good for disposing of those quickly
2. that dinky little projectile sieg uses is not an attack - it's a target lock for your legions.
3. use of legions matters more than use of sieg. he delivers solid organic attacks but given the amount of enemies onscreen being musou-tier at times, you definitely want to lean hard on your legions. sieg is not dante
4. all the legions have their uses, but when in doubt i'd say the first two are the most essential to have upgraded. don't be afraid to experiment though. some people swear by the blasphemy legion but i thought its playstyle was pretty boring and didn't use it much at all really
