this is a solid rhythm game that i can't get into because of how barebones it is. there aren't any interesting gameplay quirks to make djmax stand out, but then again the enthusiasts for this kinda niche will probably see that as a good thing

idk why i chose to say aesthetic in my initial review when it totally has the whole y2k vibe going for it - especially in the menus. what i meant at the time was to say it didn't have any sort of strong gimmicks to it. it's incredibly barebones and that's not really my style
