I remember when the gameplay teaser came out for this game, I was like WOW SUMMONS FIGHTING EACH OTHER. and I was hyped! Regardless the fact that’s it’s not og battle system, this was the birth of a new generation for FINAL FANTASY, thanks to the remake of FF7.

The first half of the game, I can say that I did not care for it. I was calling this game the most ANTI CLIMATIC GAME IN EXISTENCE. How they gon have nice crazy anime cutscenes cinematics to MMO style fetch quests, that made the game very sluggish and boring.

But when the second half after you acquire Titan as the 4th Eikon, that were the gameplay got pretty crazy. 7 eikons and you can mix and match and choose, resulting in crazy combos. When I started a battle I used Bahumuts little orb things and then I close in with Phoenix dash move and then I hit them with the OP SHIVA ULTIMATE ATTACK (I was too broke in ability points to get Gigaflare) then stack it with Odin Lv. 5 Zan and Ramuh Lightning ball float thing. MELTED STAGGERED BOSSES. This is where the game shines the most.

But the game does shine the brightest with its story, talking about philosophical ideas like Nihilism? (Is that the one where there’s no purpose in life?) or is existentialism? Idk but they fighting a God who created them and said no bih and absorbed him. Overall, I enjoyed the game and I expected the long grind and hours upon hours of fetch quests, people gotta understand that it’s a new JRPG era in the works.
