This review was written before the game released

I tried to rate this game only according to the actual in-game stuff and nothing else outside of that.

Let's get the non-gameplay related things out of the way first. This game did not need to be a sequel to the original and could have been just a massive update. Also, I do not care for the battle pass and would rather them have kept the loot boxes since it is now almost impossible to collect any cosmetics without buying the premium pass. It's almost insulting how little is given to players of the original after we paid for it. All we really get are the cosmetics we earned in the first game. If you didn't get something you wanted in the first game or are a new player here, you're out of luck unless you decide to cough up a few dollars. The launch was also extremely bad, with super long wait times, a ton of rubber banding in-game, and overall a lot of bugs and exploits going on.

Now for the actual gameplay. All in all, the game is actually pretty fun, but it feels exactly the same as the first game. The only actual differences here are that each team now only has 5 players and some heroes had their kits reworked. I remember growing to not enjoy the first game as it went on, but I enjoy this one, so I'm not sure if I just took a long break and forgot that it was actually fun or if they undid some of the changes made to the first one that I didn't like. Playing with friends is infinitely better than alone because you can actually communicate with each other, making the game easier and more fun. Also, I was under the impression that the whole story-driven PvE gamemode was the big selling point of this "new game", but it isn't even out yet, which is laughable since they shut down the first game so everyone would move to this one.
