Just a bananas good game that loses points for obtuseness in a number of its systems. Lots of fun, though, and holds up incredibly well for its age.

Rough edges aside (read: tedious challenges and wonky hitboxes abound), this game felt like the system was made for it, not the other way around. A real joy to play, and it's easy to see why so many people rank this among the top all-time Vita games.

Just a damn good game. Crisp controls, great art and atmosphere, demanding but fair gameplay. Excited to come back to the rest of this series after a break.

I was ready to name this game GOTY, but it didn't click in quite the way I wanted. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay very satisfying (I always wanted to do just one more battle), but the systems felt too complex for me and the story was lackluster. I just felt so bogged down by the end of it that I was ready to end. That final boss, too... Woof. Not a fan.

Really solid MV. Felt so much like playing Momodora RUTM (a favorite of mine), but with Vanillaware-inspired graphics. Some frustrating moments re: readability in level design (why can't I jump on these roofs???) but otherwise a very even-handed and engaging game.

A surprisingly great little JRPG. A lot of the Final Fantasy tropes with new spins on combat and presentation. Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, but it is quite simplistic.

Phenomenal characters and music, with a story that was really engaging for about 85% of the way. I never clicked with the combat, and found so many fights to be unnecessarily long and tedious. But I still really enjoyed my time with this game all the same.

A charming little Metroidvania that needed easier ways to get around the map, but was still a fun time.
