It's okay. Most "meh" pokemon game generally - it has good changes to the series formula, it has bad changes to the series formula, and it averages out to complete and total mediocrity.

Last decent pokemon game, but still a huge step down from anything on DS. The introduction of regional mons is awesome and I had a fair bit of fun with the totem pokemon fights but the excessively linear structure and lack of innovation with the series formula in a game based on a SERIES OF ISLANDS is wild.

It's INSANE how good this game is. Easily my favorite 3D mario to this day, and one of my favorite games ever made. Fire as fuck.
