Probably the best open world game I've ever played? Though it still doesn't quite shake all of the issues I tend to have with long open world games, such as getting tired or doing the large amount side content in the last half/third of the game.

I'd say it's at least on par with the first Dark Souls. Not sure of I'd say it's better though.

Compared to Prime 1 and 2, 3 is a much more cinematic, yet shallower experience. A lot of the motion control stuff hasn't aged the best, but also doesn't ever become too frustrating. This game is really easy, especially compared to Prime 2.

There are also a lot of story choices that have Samus in direct contact with allies. This felt really weird to me since every other game in the series specifically focuses on making the player feel lost and isolated as Samus. While I am all for mixing things up, I feel like this made the story stray so far that it really didn't fit my definition of what a Metroid game should be.

Overall a fun time. Definitely worth it for Metroid fans. However, not a must-play like the previous two titles.

I love everything about this game except actually playing it.
