Who would know that, out of all the people, not WWE nor AEW, but one single guy, McDickie, would get the ideal formula for a wrestling game for current standards, which is not boring realism (never was and never will be) or lame over the top cartoonish action (Battlegrounds and all that shit): is just a fluid, charismatic and fun game.

It's an amazing game, the wrestlers are recognizable despite the graphic quality, which is still pretty charming and brings a really rich roster with the option to do whatever you want with it. What it lacks in a perfeccionist aesthetic, compensates in game mechanics which WWE doesn't have the balls to put.

Has a really great attention to detail and mechanics which add to a clever realism that doesn't need to show itself constantly for it to show it's worth its presence. A really great career mode both for GM and Wrestler (somehow richer than WWE's latest) with unexpectable progressions and roads with deaths of wrestlers, actual injuries, shoot fights, rivalries, promos, dialogues, absurdism, rival promotions events, and, without exageration, much more.

I would say the chaotic nature of the game, a really fun one, comes from the roots of something like WWE'12's Universe Mode, which was never topped because of a lack of courage for something that was so fun; unexpected events all of the time, never getting tiring.

Matches are epic, dynamic, unpredictable and with absurd freedom, moves are hard htiting, double tag team moves are insane, extreme matches are bloody brutal, high flyers fly like angels and powerhouses are genuinely scary. Customization in wrestlers, matches, ring and everything else is sublime, with ropes, ring size/type, crowd appearence, lights, and all of that with a few clicks.

Such freedom lets you create the absurd on your own, with you actually owning this game and what you can do with it. McDickie took the pros from every single one of his games (not only wrestling), the formulas, the open world, dialogues, prototypes from Wrestling Revolution and previous creations, and just made one of the best wrestling game in the last 10 years. Hoping for a new Weekend Warriors version with this much ammount of work.

It's alright, but has a lot of problems. Characters are generic and not memorable with no development or anything really interesting about them. Story is bland, everything just appears and stands there with no impact. The wannabe "cool" aesthetic is just one dimentional. The oil mechanic is absolutely terrible when in prime points in missions where you need support, you need to do a whole process to get access into what you need. The aiming is bad, really weird. Destruction of environment is really good but gets difficult in a way which is not enjoyable. Has spawned enemies on terrible spots, like on a window of a house where he emerges again even if you killed him, and there he is, in a position to ruin your progress in the game. The quick time events with the tanks, which are something essential to achieve objectives, are really boring and get annoying fast. Driving is fun, cars feel nice and bikes feel epic. The ending is absurdly empty, the enviroment destruction at such period is nice if not for it always screwing you up. No sense of captivating progression story wise, but i still enjoyed playing it. I really like third person shooters, specially with an open world, so i played through lightly and it flew really fast; had a nice time overall, but gonna forget this really soon.

Well, current Fifa sucks, this one not as much as the others, but it still sucks a lot. Old Fifas used to entertain you until the next year's release, and they still are fantastic games today. Fifa 10, 12, and 13, are games that i play currently and slam dunk this into a trashcan. These current games, you can enjoy for a week or two, until you notice how awful the gameplay is, and, no matter the fucking rainbow colored ultimate team cards you can get, nothing matters when your gameplay is bad. And i'm talking about the offline experience, because luckly i never played Ultimate Team in my life, but i can imagine the nightmare of players dealing with bugs, connection problems, micro transactions, handicap, 99 overall cards and much more. Awful movement, not imaginative with the way you can play, when you can just bug with lob passes or do some awful dribbles with your centerback and score with him, with movements that make the player look like a worm. 60 overall player moves like a 90 overall player, but a 90 overall player can be as stupid as a 40 overall player due to the imbecile AI. Specially this year, goalkeepers are as stupid as they can get, it's unbberable, the goalkeepers never can defend a ball without letting it fall on the grass, and the animation of them trying to defend look super poor, looks robotic and unrealistic, goals simply don't look convincing.

I don't care about Ultimate Team, i don't play online, i like a solo, offline experience, and Fifa is absurdly poor. Volta is a poorly made Fifa Street, i played this mode on Fifa 20 and its absurdly corny, and it doesn't add into the experience. Career mode, which should have giant emphasis, is mediocre. It sure has mechanics here n there with the training, dialogues with players, interviews and all that, but they get repetitive fast. I mean, playing Fifa 12 with little to do on the career mode, is more enjoyable than this piece of garbage, with the still awful scouting with no freedom to freely buy a young player with good potential like the old games (i had to search the freaking overall and price of every single player i wanted). There are repetitive interviews that sometimes don't make any sense (like, i just got in a team, and they ask me about why i'm still putting certain player to play the matches considering his poor form, but i just got here????), repetitive scenarios with the same "out-of-nowhere-your-player-can't-score-goals", etc.

One thing that bothered me is the commentary team change, Martin Tyler and Alan Smith were fantastic, super natural and genuine commentary, sounding super iconic and memorable, but, idk why, they out of nowhere changed. I mean, these new commentators aren't bad, but considering they are new, they sound repetitive, and with little to add compared to the progression of Martin and Tyler's attention to detail in commentary, with the big addition of vocal lines year to year.

The only thing this game actually change, is the menu, that old menu was the same from Fifa 14 to 2021, just changing the colors, wtf???

Still, this is not a good game, not good at all. Fifa 23 will be EA's last, but i'm sure it's not gonna be good, Fifa hasn't been a solid football experience in years, being unrealistic, and not even being a fun arcade experience. I'm just curious with what will come next, but also scared.
