Spec Ops: The Line
Did this really only take me 4.2 hours to play? Felt much longer. Story was gritty and fucked up, but that's war baby. Shooting mechanics left something to be desired. Top reviews don't take into account any sort of social context that was going around during the time of this games release. Yes, no shit killing unarmed civilians is bad and this game is very on the nose with that take, but unless you truly understand the complexities of war you really can't say anything about this games message. The same people shitting on this game are the same people that shit on movies like Jarhead, Apocalypse Now, and Full Metal Jacket.

IDK how they did it again, but they did. I was literally shaking like an alcoholic 2 days sober when this got announced. This game goes so unnecessarily hard. Gameplay is obviously better than the OG, except the levitation ball got nerfed to shit. One of the only games I've ever 100%'d.

Game is literally the shit. If you didn't grow up with this game you don't have that nostalgia factor. Any rating less than a 4 is just objectively wrong. I have deeply fond memories of deleting my sister's save file anytime she pissed me off.

Unfortunately had to look up like one single thing which always muddles my experience, but after another year, and less memory, I'll give it another go. End sequence was pretty goofy. Not much of an actual detective game. You just go around and read papers and piece a story together.
