There are some worthwhile criticisms about the structure of the game, but honestly, they did not bother me that terribly! I liked the individual characters' stories and they did KIND of connect, even if you had to piece the connections together yourself. I think the biggest criticisms I have are that there should have been more party interactions that were easier to find and that the... super secret true final boss that kind of tells you how all the characters' stories intertwine is really hard to both track down and actually fight... but anyway! I'd love to see another Octopath game that refines the formula more. The gameplay is fun as heck and doesn't need that much tweaking to be great, so it's mostly just the story structure that needs handling. Oh and the music rules.
