@imshitting420 they may not be musicals in the literal sense of having the characters sing the songs themselves but everyone has a big lyrical character theme, like in Metal Gear Rising when you fight Mistral and "A Stranger I Remain" starts playing with all the lyrics being about the character and their motivations that's basically like a "character song" moment in a musical
or when you play Pumpkin Hill as Knuckles and you listen to his song about he's flying in deeper and whatnot
basically games that are primarily driven by lyrical songs about big personalities

or something like that, I don't really know anything about music

as a fellow Yoko Taro diehard for many years I'm gonna recommend Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere (JP), Drakengard is a spiritual sequel if you're wondering what that "Project Dragonsphere" business and the unlockable jet-plane was about, complete with the increasingly-dire alternate endings
JP because they stripped out the whole story and half the game for the western version
