A fun introduction to the Final Fantasy series. The story is nothing to write home about, and the gameplay is extremely repetitive, but the fetch quests are not too tedious and the item/spell progression is satisfying if not buggy. This game doesn't hold your hand at all. But the manual does. Which is, frankly, necessary if you want to get any enjoyment out of this in the first few hours of gameplay. The endgame is fairly anticlimactic since your armor and weapons and spells will be no match for the final boss. But a fun game despite it all.
