better than nsmb2 by a long shot, but still suffers from being "just another new super mario bros game". i do think it's a lot better than most people give it credit for tho

i was struggling to stay awake towards the end of the game and i think that says more about the game than i ever could

i'm terrible at fighting games but oh my god... it's omega peak...

if i could rate it between 3.5 and 4 i would, but my heart is telling me to go with the former. it's a fine enough game on its own, but sorta falls apart when you play it right after the original. there are some new ideas here that while cool, aren't fleshed out very well, and is overall shorter than the original to boot. thankfully, the star coins in this game weren't as sadistic as some of the ones in the original, but i still wouldn't fully recommend going for 100%. overall, a decent 2D mario game, and not much more

while the game might be looked at less favorably now due to the series' later reputation, this is still a very solid 2D mario game that for better or worse, would set the foundation for the series going forward. do not 100% this.

saikoroshi was surprisingly good! the epilogue to higurashi you didn't know you wanted, even though it trampled on matsuribayashi's perfect ending just a bit.

hirukowashi was ok. i have nothing to really say about it, although i guess i have to play higurashi daybreak now.

batsukoishi? ew, gross, vile, disgusting. actual affront to humanity.

ratings: saikoroshi 9/10, hirukowashi 7/10, batsukoishi 1/10

我愛北京天安門, 天安門上太陽升!

i truly can't decide if this or umineko was better. they're about on the same level of quality to me, that is to say, peak fiction and an absolute must-read

marking this as shelved because i don't want it to get in the way of what i'm currently playing atm, but i picked this game up on sale after trying a couple other monster hunter games and not really getting too into it. idk what happened this time around but i'm really enjoying my experience, despitely only putting about 4 hours in so far. i'll rate it 4 stars for now but i'm sure it'll go up once i come around and actually finish it

i'm on the fence as to whether or not it's better than vanilla cs1 but cs1 with all dlc expansions clears it so fucking hard it's not even close

merry gasps for air in between long sobs christmas

genuine masterpiece. the game is crafted in such a way that it forces you to learn its mechanics while simultaneously letting you absolutely snap it in half if you know what you’re doing. the story, characters and environments are also peak in their own unique way. this is a must play for any JRPG lover out there, and the PSP port is also available on PS4 and PS5. while the game does definitely have its flaws, i had way too much fun playing it to really mind them.

there were a few pacing issues here and there but once it got going it REALLY got going. absolute peak, can't wait for the answer arcs

shb was my favorite part of the msq so getting to return to those areas had me giddy. story was peak, the dungeon was probably my favorite of the expansion, trial was alright, zero continues to be a 10/10 character
