This one is objectively the greatest MOTHER game, and for a while, it was my favorite. The story that unfolds is very tight and doesn't derail too much from what it needs to do. The music is great for a GBA title, absolutely fantastic. And the gameplay is the most refined out of the trilogy, with note combos and various options for each playable party member. It is a bit more difficult to revisit this game since the story's is heavily narrative based, it doesn't pack as much of a punch as a first time playthrough but still very enjoyable nonetheless. Play the fan translation of this game or the original if you understand Japanese, it's an all time great.

Really great game! There's no run button Like EB Beginnings or MOTHER 3 but it's tolerable. The journey and world throughout MOTHER 2 is fantastic, and the dialogue and NPC's are very very humerous, I loved everything about it. The graphics are still top notch even to this day, the battle backgrounds and distinct locations all pop. The music for this one is also very memorable, from battle music to more emotional tracks like Because I love you. Play this one if you don't want to go through MOTHER 1, I highly recommend.
