Helldivers 2 is another game in a string of immensely popular co-op titles. Think Phasmophobia or Lethal Company. Working as a team to reach a common goal with kinda janky mechanics and graphics and the guarantee that every mission will have something go wrong in a silly and absurd way. Helldivers 2 does this but with the addition of 500kg bombs and bug-stomping mechs. The mission is simple, drop into a giant bug or evil automaton infested planet and kill all that oppose you. You do have objectives but all of them involve the killing part. Progression is really rewarding. You can level up your personal arsenal, your stratagems which range from airstrikes to turrets to supply caches. There is also a battle pass but I never bought it and I still had a great time and unlocked A LOT of stuff. The team is constantly adding new stratagems and weapons into the game as well. My personal favorite mechanic is the sliding scale on each planet showing how far along in the liberation process you are and when a planet is 100% you move onto the next. The entire player base is working together to protect Super Earth in mega scale co-op. It's actually sick as hell. Do your part. Play Helldivers 2. For Super Earth.
